Alice G. Bailey

                WALHONDING- Alice Gay Bailey, 68, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Country Club Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

                She was born Sept. 12, 1948 in Grundy, VA to the late Earl Sturgeon and Goldie E. (Jackson) Sturgeon Lell.  She was a member of the former Pentecostal Church near Millwood.  She loved watching the “Grand Ole Opry”, and listening to blue grass gospel and country music.

                She is survived by her husband of nearly 26 years, Harold E. Bailey of Walhonding, whom she married June 17, 1991; her son, Jeff (Claudia) Tatro of Danville; five grandchildren; two sisters, Anise (Joe) Durbin of Columbus, and Wanda (Steve) Muck of Millwood; three step-children; and three step-grandchildren.

                In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray & Glenn Sturgeon.

                Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with Roy Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
