Mark A. Leppla

      LAKE BUCKHORN - Mark Allen Leppla, 35, passed to the next life on April 15, 2017, surrounded by those that loved him.  His smile and demeanor touched all that knew him.  He chose Lake Buckhorn for his final place to rest in peace.  His friends were many.  He was our gentle giant with a giant heart. 

      Mark was born November 3, 1981, to Debbie (Van Fossen) Leppla and Dave Leppla in Coshocton, Ohio.

      Mark graduated with honors from River View High School in 2000 and went on to Ohio University in Athens, graduating in 2004.  He grew up in Roscoe United Methodist Church.  He excelled in sports all his life.

      He is survived by his father, Dave Leppla, Warsaw, Ohio, and his mother, Debbie (Ron) Hardesty of Coshocton, a brother, Jason (Allisyn) Leppla, Avon, Ohio.  He is also survived by two step-sisters, Emily (Blair) Higdon, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Katie Hardesty, Charlotte, NC.  Also surviving are a nephew, Cohen and a niece, Kaia Leppla and step-nephew, Jett Higdon. He is further survived by uncles, John (Ann) Leppla of Coshocton and Steve Leppla of San Diego, CA, an aunt, Becky (Chuck) Hasler of Mesa, AZ, cousins Matt (Cherlyn) Leppla of Coshocton and Kyle (Laura) Hasler and Kirk Hasler of Arizona.

      In the final two and a half years of his life he met the greatest love of his life, Miss Toni Carpenter and her family. Toni’s family included her parents, Dan and Marcia, her brother, Brent (Shannon), and twin nieces, Kayla and Kiana. This family from Holmesville surrounded Mark with much happiness and love. 

      Mark was predeceased by grandparents, H. David and Wilma Leppla and step-grandmother, Wanda Leppla and Gerald and Clara Mae Van Fossen.

      Mark had a special place in his heart for all critters, especially dogs and cats. He will be missed by all that knew him.  His smile will shine in our hearts and minds forever.

      The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Millersburg and Wooster, who helped him ease into the next life.

      His choice of cremation and no calling hours will be honored.  A Celebration of Life is planned for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Lake Buckhorn Pavilion, 1817 SR 83 Millersburg.
