Welcome to the memorial page for

Nora E. Richesson

January 3, 1938 ~ November 6, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

COSHOCTON- Nora Ellen (Guthrie) Richesson, 79, gained her angel wings and was called home to join her husband “Hap” on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at the Coshocton Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Jan. 3, 1938 in Coshocton, the daughter of the late Russell and Madonna (Preston) Guthrie.  On June 18, 1955, she married her late and loving husband, Franklin D. “Hap” Richesson, who was the love of her life. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2003.  She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2040 Auxiliary, and a member and past-President of AmVets Post 36 Auxiliary.

Nora and “Hap” had three children, Debra (Guy) Slaughter of Newark, Jim (Terri) Richesson of Coshocton, and Bob Richesson of Coshocton.  The family was completed with eight grandchildren, Jeremy Slaughter (deceased), Karly Slaughter of Newark, Cody (Jessica) Slaughter of New Port Richey, FL, Nikki Crown of Coshocton, Justin Richesson of Coshocton, Beau (Danielle) Richesson of Coshocton, Seth (Kenzie) Richesson of Henderson, NV, and Cory (Anisha) Richesson of Coshocton; three great-grandchildren, Aleea Mizer of Newark, Nathan Slaughter of Newark, and Rylee Crown of Coshocton; three sisters, Helen Darr of Coshocton; Emma Shaneyfelt (deceased), and Clara Henry (deceased); three brothers, Jim (Virginia) Guthrie of Coshocton, Russell Guthrie, Jr. (deceased), and William Guthrie (deceased); several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Diane (Guthrie) Bair (deceased), whom Nora loved like a daughter.

Among Nora’s many favorites, she enjoyed traveling the States to P.O.W. conventions with her husband.  She also was an avid reader, so she would make many weekly trips to her local library.  She would want to help those in need, so she regularly contributed to her local Salvation Army.

Nora was a lover of music, and she always sang along with her favorite tunes. However, her most important mission in life was the love and care she provided for her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She will be so sadly missed by her family, but we all take comfort in knowing she is at peace and meeting her other loved ones once again.

Family and friends may attend a graveside service, which will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at Valley View Cemetery, with Pastor Bill Eckert officiating.  The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
