Danville – Robert R. “Bob” Tucker, 90, died Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Knox County on October 1, 1926 and was the son of the late Robert L. and Elizabeth (Reed) Tucker. Bob was a 1944 graduate of Howard High School and a resident of the Danville area for many years and was a member of the Danville Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a dairy farmer for many years, and also retired as a factory worker from Flxible Corporation.
He is survived by three sons; James Tucker (Karen Balot) of Gahanna, Roger (Nanci) Tucker of Danville, and Gary Tucker of Howard, and a daughter, Mary (Bernie) Superak of Fairmont, WV. He enjoyed his five grandchildren; Christopher Tucker of Mason, Jennifer Tucker of Danville, Garrett Tucker of Danville, Bernie Superak of Greenville, NC, and Katie Superak of Fairmont, WV, and his step-grandchildren; Shawn (Kelly) Frazee of Lewis Center, Kyle (Marla) Frazee of Ashland, and Ashley (Keenen) Noffit of North Fairfield, and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Donna M. (Workman) Tucker in 2004, a brother, Raymond Tucker, and four sisters; Blanche Hays, Nanna Hillier, Anna Forquhar, and Verna Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with Gene Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
