Walter L. Knox

February 2, 1941 ~ April 24, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

                WARSAW- Walter Lewis Knox, 76, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Newark Select Specialty Hospital.

                He was born Feb. 2, 1941 in Newark to the late Lewis S. and Bernice Lucille (Paisley) Knox.  He was a 1959 graduate of Warsaw High School, and he soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as Master Sergeant until his retirement in 1979. He moved back to the area and began work at AEP, retiring after 23 years of service.  He was a Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 412, a baseball coach, and was known as the family “I.T. man".  He enjoyed studying family ancestry, and spending as much time outside as possible. Gardening, camping, taking a walk, and attending games were just a few of the many ways he enjoyed the outdoors.  He also was an avid reader of sci-fi books.

                He was a member of the Wilbraham, MA Masonic Lodge, the Bethlehem Grange, Army Navy Garrison #628, V.F.W. Post #1330, and Moose Lodge #935.

                He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlene (Jolley) Knox of Warsaw, whom he married Oct. 13, 1963; two daughters, Cindy Orillion of Warsaw, and Elizabeth (Neil McGinley) Knox of Quakertown, PA; a son, W. Lewis Knox, Jr. of Chandler, AZ; seven grandchildren, Tanner Orillion (fiancé Ashleigh Pensinger), Sean Orillion, Andrew Orillion, Isaac Knox, Kimberly Stevens, Michael Stevens, and Christina Seckman; and five great-grandchildren.

                In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Patton; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

                Walter’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Newark Select Specialty Hospital for the wonderful care he received during his time with them.

                Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Mark Brodbeck officiating.  Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co.
