COSHOCTON- Arnet Dale Thompson, 84, died Monday, April 22, 2024 at Altercare of Zanesville.
He was born Oct. 31, 1939 in Doddridge Co., WV to the late Melvin Arnet Thompson and Alice Ruth (Cox) Thompson Wright. He married Mary Louise "Mary Lou" (Huff) Thompson on June 21, 1964, who preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 2020.
He was a coal miner, worked at the former Pretty Products company, Semac Industries, and The Longaberger Co. He loved to tinker, especially on cars and trying to fix anything for anyone.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping with family & friends, and listening to country music. Traveled to Nashville many times, and went to Ponderosa Park as well for concerts. He was also a big fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Thompson (Matthew Shannon) of Coshocton; son, Steven (Lisa) Thompson of Lancaster; grandchildren, Sarah McGraw Thimmes (Luke), and Emilee Thompson, both of Lancaster; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Thompson and Sharon Edgell; a brother, Patrick Wright; and his step-father, Ira "Junior" Wright.
The family would like to thank the staff of Altercare of Zanesville and Genesis Hospice for their compassionate care during a difficult time.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton, with Pastor Rod Uhlig officiating. Visitation is Thursday, April 25th from 5-7 p.m. at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
