John Chadil Obituary

       WALSENBURG, CO- John J. Chadil, 72, of Walsenburg, Colorado passed away February 12, 2024 at his home. He was born October 10, 1951 to the late Alois and Margaret (Smith) Chadil in Danville.  He graduated from Danville High School in 1969.

       He enlisted in the United State Air Force and spent time in Guam and Japan.  He was a former mental health technician in the US Air Force.  He studied Divine Liturgy/Theology at St. Thomas Theological Seminary, obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at the University of Maryland. He was a member of Knights of Columbus in Walsenburg, Colorado.  John owned a hardware/miscellaneous retail store in Walsenburg for more than 30 years.

      He is survived by two sisters, Jane (Edward) Roskowski and Mary Brokaw of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.

       In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and James “Jim” Chadil; a sister, Lois Frost; and a brother-in-law, John Brokaw.

       A funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Homer Blubaugh at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville.  Friends and family may visit prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Luke Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be contributed to St. Luke Cemetery Fund, P.O.  Box P, Danville, OH 43014.
