Ava Engelhardt Obituary

        WALNUT CREEK- Ava I. Engelhardt, 95, of Millersburg passed away on July 20, 2018 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek. 

        Born on July 24, 1922 in Tiverton, Ohio she was the daughter of the late William and Estella (Reed) Warner.  She graduated from Tiverton and Warsaw High Schools.  

        On March 28, 1948, she married, John L. Engelhardt, who preceded her in death on May 8, 1995.  She was also preceded in death by her two sisters; Lucille Engelhart and Helen Horn; and three brothers, Harold, Arthur, and Willis Warner.  

       Ava was a member of the Union Grove Church of Christ. She also attended Danville Church of Christ and the Millersburg Christian Church.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and quilting. Ava’s delicious dinner rolls were always a welcome addition to any potluck or family dinner, as well as her bread, cookies and pies.  She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing for herself and her daughters.  She made quilts for grandchildren and great-grandchildren and baby blankets, which are used around the world by family and friends. 

       She will be sadly missed by her children; Linda Sue (John) Snodgrass of Goose Creek, SC; David (Diane) Engelhardt of Tampa, FL;  Ellen (Joe) Miller of Dover; Janet (Mark) Lytle of Millersburg; along with ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  

       A celebration of Ava’s life will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Union Grove Church of Christ, 2135 TR 2 Killbuck, Ohio 44637 with Wes Mcelravy officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends are invited to call on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5-7 pm at the Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High Street, Danville, Ohio 43014.  To sign an online guestbook for Ava, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
