DANVILLE- Dalton Lee Kaylor, 90, died Monday, March 18, 2019 at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Nov. 6, 1928 in Knox Co. to the late John O. and Ellen June (Swigert) Kaylor. He graduated from Danville High School in 1947, and was a co-owner of the former Kaylor Elevator. He also worked as a bus driver for Danville Local Schools, and for ODOT.
Dalton was an avid basketball fan, and enjoyed watching all Danville area sports. He especially enjoyed following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all the times spent with them through the years.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years, Helen (Nyhart) Kaylor of Danville, whom he married May 21, 1950; three children, Brad (Robia) Kaylor of Danville, Brent (Renee) Kaylor of Danville, and Lynne Kaylor of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Ashley (Ben) Miller, Miriah (Larry) Ashman, Brandon (Coryn) Kaylor, and Brittany Kaylor (Chad Spinosi); great-grandchildren, Isiah, Peyton, & Koyer Miller, Damien Smith & Joselynne Miller, Brooklyn, Claire, & Eli Ashman, and Paisley Spinosi; his nephews; and his dog, “Miss Daisy”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clyde Kaylor, his brother, Harry Kaylor, and a granddaughter, Josie Lynne Kaylor.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, with Pastor Patrick Bailey officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
