David Lee Stamper Sr.February 25, 1951 ~ June 2, 2017 (age 66)
Warsaw – Evangelist David Lee Stamper Sr., 66, went to be with the Lord while peacefully surrounded by his family Friday June 2, 2017 at his residence.
He was born February 25, 1951 in Shelby to William Floyd and Vada Lee (Brown) Stamper. He loved the Cleveland Browns, and preaching the word of God. He was a licensed minister, and loved singing and helping at his church.
He is survived by his wife, and childhood sweetheart, Elsie (Shepherd) Stamper, and their sons; Darren (Loreeta) Shafer of Warsaw, David (Sheila) Stamper, Jr. of Ashland, AL, Darrick (Ricardo) Stamper of Queretaro, Mexico, Justin (Kelly) Shafer of Triadelphia, WV, and Clinton Stamper of Columbus, daughters; Jenny (Terry) Weisman of Mount Vernon, Venda (Daniel) Stratford of Howard, Shiela (Butchie) Haught of Benwood, WV, Erica Everhart of Coshocton, and Sondra (Josh) Beckett of Howard, 37 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and a sister, Della (Joe) Stepp of Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Gabriella Stamper, brothers; Dallas, Frank, and Joel Stamper, and sisters; Lorene, Lois, Goldie, and Kathy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6 at the Free Pentecostal Holiness Church, 24136 TR 113 Warsaw, 43844 where calling hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Darren Shafer and David Stamper, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in New Castle Cemetery.
