Howard – Donald Lee Truex, 76, passed away on Sunday December 23, 2018 at the Kobacker House in Columbus.
He was born on December 8, 1942 to the late Ralph D. “Pat” and Betty R. (Bilyeu) Truex. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1960 to 1964, and a member of the Millwood Church of Christ. For many years, he owned and operated the Marathon filling station on the corner of Market and Main St. in Danville.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Helen (Cly) Truex, his daughters, Jenny Tucker of Newark, and Krissy Truex of Columbus, his grandchildren, Trevor and Kendall Tucker, a sister, Kaye Crumbaker of Mount Vernon, a brother, Robert (Sally) Truex of Columbus, and brothers-in-law, Jack Holland of Kingman, AZ, and Randy Frazee of Mt. Vernon.
Calling hours will be at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, 403 High St., from 4-6:00 Thursday evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 28, at the Millwood Church of Christ, 11961 Bridge St. Howard, 43028. Dave Jones will officiate. Burial, with Military Honors conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Workman Cemetery, Danville.
