Heidi Heiks

November 22, 1955 ~ March 27, 2017 (age 61) 61 Years Old

 

     Brinkhaven - Believing that submission to his Heavenly Father each moment of every day to be of paramount importance, Heidi Heiks surrendered to His Lord for the last time on March 27, 2017 in Brinkhaven Ohio.  Born November 22, 1955, he spent his childhood in Haysville, Ohio and graduated from Haysville High School.

     A quiet, patient man of many interests and talents, Heidi excelled as a scholar, researcher, author, teacher and musician.  He also enjoyed working in the construction trades and was in the process of transforming a church into a beautiful home at the time of his death. 

     Heidi was a member of the Millersburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church as well as the Brinkhaven Village council.  The author of nine books relating to Bible prophecy and the gospel, he was endorsed by the Biblical Research Institute for the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Heidi loved animals, motorcycles, playing the bass guitar and meandering over the back roads of Amish country while driving a truck for Weaver’s Farm and Furniture.

     Heidi is survived by his adoring wife of nearly 21 years, Robin (Worthington) Heiks; son Corey (Lisa Bergeron) Heiks of Killingworth, CT, step-children Jamie (Steve) Sigman of Fredericktown, Emily (Jon) Newsome of Kila, MT, Curtis (Kate) Mirise of Mount Gilead, Jason (Dawn) Tremmel of Priest River, ID, and Julie (John) Weber of Columbus ; grandchildren Wyatt and Nathan Newsome and Tori Billings; siblings Janice (Jerry) Schaad, Joel (Marda) Heiks and Joyce Bowersock as well as many nieces an d nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents Forest and Arlene Heiks.

     A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Millersburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Elder Walter Litton officiating.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 400 Columbus Rd. Mount Vernon, OH 43050, or at knoxhumanesociety.org. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is assisting with arrangements.
