LEXINGTON- Howard Christopher “Chris” Tracy, 84, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at about 6 a.m. All who knew him will remember him as a “Psalm 15 man”.
His parents were Duke & Evelyn (Church) Tracy; husband to Gwen (Renfrew) Tracy; father to Matt, Kendra, and father-in-law to Cynthia; grandfather to Zane, Zoe, Rocky, & Ruby, grandfather-in-law to Steve Fletcher; great-grandfather to Stephen Matthew Fletcher; his sister Mary; brothers Marvin, Dick, Jim, & Mike, all of their children and grandchildren; his cousins Madge Savage, Evelyn McCauley, Bill & Janet Martin and all of their families; all his friends from work & play, and all his church family.
Prior to his Earthly death he told his Kendra, his daughter, he was going to Heaven to be with Jesus and his son Matt, who left for Heaven Sept. 6, 2012.
He was a singer in the Mansfield Chorus starting when he was 67. He and all of his siblings served in the armed forces, including his dad who was in WWI.
For work he was a supervisor at two different factories in Lexington. For leisure he built and arranged his home with porches, doors, built-in closets, et cetera. He and Gwen traveled all over Ohio to almost all the campgrounds, sleeping in tents, trailers, cars, and even a little motorhome they had. He took his fold-up bike and bicycled on all of the campground paths.
He was an avid reader. He and his wife enjoyed over twenty years of retirement together. He will be missed greatly, but we will re-unite in Heaven.
