Mary Seith Obituary

COSHOCTON- Mary Ann (Hill) Elliott Seith, 90, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at her residence.

She was born March 30, 1927 in Mansfield to the late Walter L.R. and Emma Marie (Autret) Hill. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Elyria, and an associate member of the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church. Her interests included writing, opening & reading the daily mail, drawing, singing, doing the laundry, and bird watching. She also loved cats, and the view of Lake Erie from her home on the lake at Linwood Park in Vermilion.

Mary had that rare ability of listening to people when they talked to her.  Along with that, she had the gift to answer in a helpful, humorous way that got individuals laughing in the midst of their problem or disappointment.

She also had a habit of remembering what you told her.  People were often surprised to hear Mary talk to them about something they told her a long time ago.

She had a gift of writing notes to people that helped them in areas they were struggling with.  She was greatly loved by her friends and family, and especially her grand-children, who learned so much from her. She leaves a big Mary-shaped hole in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rev. William Seith of Coshocton, whom she married on July 16, 1964; seven children, Cindy (Larry) Shepherd of Deltona, FL, Laurie (Jim) Ginn of Lake Worth, FL, Cyndy (David) Bingham of Shreveport, LA, Neil (Yvonne) Elliott of Crestline, Sharon (Les) Revennaugh of Coshocton, Susan (Tom) Becerra of Rittman, and Bruce (Misty) Seith of Shreve; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Lookabaugh of Mansfield; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard H. Elliott; a brother, Ralph; a sister, Eileen; and a grandson, Larry “Skip” Shepherd, II.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Vermilion E & R Church, 752 Grand St. Vermilion, OH 44089, with Pastor Nick Caichitori officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. Her remains will be laid to rest at a later date in Mansfield Memorial Park in Ontario.
