Howard – Pleasant B. “Hoppy” Hopkins, Jr., 94, passed away on Monday December 17, 2018 at the Hospice of Central Ohio Selma Markowitz Inpatient Care Center in Newark.
He was born August 30, 1924 to Frances Marie and Pleasant Hopkins, Sr. He served in the Navy in WWII, and during the Korean War. He retired as a Detective with the Columbus Police Department after 25 years, where he led the first narcotics squad. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners Society.
Hoppy is survived by his sons, Brock (Suzanne) Hopkins of Gambier, and Chris (Lisa) Hopkins of Howard, his daughter, Beth (Mitch) Furby of Howard, grandchildren, Brittany and Lucas Hopkins, and Megan and Monica Furby, and his great granddaughter, Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn “George” Hopkins, a brother, Floyd, and "Aunt Jo", Josephine Laird.
