Howard – Robert J. Vales, 80, passed away on Friday October 27, 2017 at his Apple Valley residence.
Bob was born September 4, 1937 in Cleveland to John E. and Harriet F. (Mantowski) Vales. He served in the Korean War with the U.S. Navy from 1955-1958. He was a member of the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville and loved fishing, feeding birds, wood working, thoroughbred horses, the Browns, Indians, and Cavs, but what brought him the greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon (McCune) Vales, his kids; Denise Vales (Nikki), Shane (Joy) McCune, Valerie (Kyle) Hughes, Stephen (Laurie) Vales, Pauline (Andy) Puttmann, and Mare (Gene) Matheny, two sisters, Sister Florence Vales and Sister Patricia Vales, grandkids; Kayla (Joshua) Gardner, Emily (Lee) Mullins, Garrett Hughes, Rebecca Vales, John Vales, and Liam Puttmann, and great grandkids; Kohen and Skylar Mullins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Robert Vales, Jr.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30 at the St. Luke church in Danville. Father Hammond will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time. Interment will be held at a later date.
