Wayne Foster

                COSHOCTON- Dale Wayne Foster, 95, a resident of Signature Healthcare and formerly CR 23, joined his wife in Heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 surrounded by his family.

                He was born Feb. 13, 1922 in Coshocton to the late Byron and Bessie Marie (Cullison) Foster.  He married Maxine Delores (Baab) Foster on Oct. 31, 1953, who preceded him in death on March 20, 2014.  He was a 1941 graduate of Roscoe High School, and attended Muskingum University. He served in the US Army during WWII in posts located in Hawaii, Saipan, Okinawa, and the Marianas Islands.  He was in the 27th Div. 102nd Combat Engineers.  After the war, he worked for a year at the US Post Office before beginning his career with the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources as a game manager in the Division of Wildlife at Woodbury Reserve.  He was a lifelong farmer, and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and family time, especially picnics.  He was a lifelong member of the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church.

                He is survived by three daughters, Davonne (Randy) Stingel of Coshocton, Diane (Bob) Laughlin of Warsaw, and Darlene (Bryon) Pittenger of Carlisle, PA; a son, Dave (Michelle) Foster of Coshocton; eight grandchildren, Josh Stingel (Jennifer Rush), Alissa (Michael) Lyons, Ryan (Megan) Stingel, Shawn Laughlin, Nathan & Samuel Pittenger, and Michael & Dylan Foster; and two great-grandchildren, Lance & Alaina Lyons.

                In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.

                Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dail Parrish officiating.  Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Veterans Honor Guard.  Calling hours are from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.  The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
