DANVILLE - Betty J. (Morris) Lauderbaugh passed away Friday, Jan. 26. 2024 at Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Oct. 12, 1941 in Lodi, OH to the late Virgil and Cathryn (Swope) Morris. After graduating from Danville High School, she married her husband Larry Lauderbaugh of 61 years and raised their family in the Danville area. Over those years Betty was well known for her good food at local restaurants where she worked in the early years and always at church events at the North Bend Church of the Brethren (Danville) where she was an active member for more than 60 years. Over those 60+ years she served many church members and others in the community through the shared mission of Christian service provided by the church's Women's Fellowship group. Even late in her years when she was less mobile, she continued that service to others from her kitchen table with cell phone in hand.
The biggest beneficiaries of her good food and Christian service to others was her husband (Larry), two sons, Gary (Patti) Lauderbaugh of Shelby, Steve (Shari) Lauderbaugh of Danville, eight grandchildren: Morgan (Justin), Darci (Jeremiah), Eric, Katie (Christian), Kirk, Kyle, Kari (Andrew), & Jesse, and 13 great-grandchildren: Kylie, Kora, Klaire, Camden, Zoey, Brynlee, Zander, Oaklynn, Kingston, Evelyn, Baker, Hudson, & Zavier.
In addition to her husband and immediate family members she is also survived by her sister Peggy Morris, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Vicki (Frazee) Morris, John D. (Dolores) Lauderbaugh, Joy Parr, Jean (Bill) Pope, Sue (Woody) Strouse, William Reiheld, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-law Jay and Barb Morris, brother Harold Morris, sister-in-law Coralie Reiheld, and brother-in-law Bill Parr.
All services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3rd at North Bend Church of the Brethren (24458 Orange Hill Rd, Danville, OH) with Pastor Patrick Bailey officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at North Bend Cemetery. Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
