M. Delmar Littleton

March 8, 1925 — April 14, 2011

HOWARD - M. Delmar Littleton, 86, of Flack Road died April 14, 2011 at his residence.

He was born March 8, 1925 in Cranston, KY to the late Albert and Martha (Blevins) Littleton.

He was a finishing roller in the steel mill where he retired after 37 years from AK Steel. He was a member of the Owl Creek Harmony Primitive Baptist Church. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the former VFW at Danville.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M. (Walker) Littleton, who he married July 26, 1947. Also surviving is a son, Richard (Vicki) Littleton of Howard. Grandchildren, Shane (Jill) Littleton of Mount Vernon, Jeremy (Laurie) Littleton of Sumter, SC, Melissa Littleton of Westerville, Andrew (Ashley) Littleton of Ft. Campbell, KY, and Jonathon (Sarah) Littleton of Galion. 13 grandchildren. Two brothers, William Littleton of Springfield and Albert (Joanie) Littleton of Bronston, KY. Three sisters, Oleda King of Olive Hill, KY, Jean Patterson of northern Ohio, and Marie Duron of Mount Vernon. A special friend, Chuck Alexander of Appley Valley. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews. And his special companions, his cat Blackie and his dog Lady.

He was preceded in death by his step mother, Ruth Littleton, a son, James A. Littleton, a grandson, Clay Littleton, and two infant sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastors Darwin Edwards and Jack Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the Workman Cemetery at Danville with graveside military services conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. Visitation is Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. and until service time on Monday.

A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Ohio Lodge #199 in Bladensburg following the service on Monday.
