Danville - Robert W. Howard, 69, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville.

He was born in Harrisburg, PA on September 25, 1943 to Robert W. and Lorine Mae (Brandt) Howard. He was a Master Sgt. programming technician in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1981, serving at NORAD Headquarters at Cheyenne Mountain, and at the Pentagon. He also retired from Cooper Energy Services after 20 years.

Robert is survived by his children; Robert B. (Sheila) Howard of Mansfield, Thomas E. (Kimberly) Howard of Mount Vernon, Sherrie M. (Jason) Moore of Danville, and Scott (Margherita) Howard of Howard, grandchildren; Juliana, Robert J., Jacob, Hailey, Branton, Samantha, Madysen, Allysen, Hope, Storm, Macey, Alysha, Scott, Skylar, Marissa, Miranda, Noah, and Seth, an aunt; Mary Brandt of Middletown, PA, nephews; Larry and Bo Mullis, and brother-in-law; Larry Mullis of Colorado Springs, CO, and a special friend; Donna Schaffer of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister; Shirley Mullis.

Calling hours will be from 5-8 on Tuesday at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. After cremation, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., at the Danville United Methodist Church on Market St. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be performed by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
