DANVILLE- A. Dean Holt, 91, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at his home surrounded by those who dearly loved him.
He was born Sept. 17, 1920 in Tiverton to the late Curtis and Fern (Workman) Holt. He married Nadine (Endsley) Holt on Aug. 6, 1941, who preceded him in death on May 12, 1988.
Dean was an exceptional man, who was loved and highly respected for his expertise in farm equipment repairs and his top of the line cattle he raised on his farm. He was the kindest and most honorable man anyone could ever meet. A lifelong farmer, he also worked for Bill Holt's tractor shop and later was the owner and operator of his own John Deere store in Danville. He was a welder at Cooper-Bessemer, a trustee and maintainer for Tiverton Twp., a member of the Coshocton Co. Farm Bureau, Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, International Machinists Association, and the Tiverton Church of Christ.
He is survived by his companion, Helen Lahmon of Danville, her daughter and his friend, Katie Campbell of Mt. Vernon, two grandsons and eight great-grandchildren; Travis (Becky) Holt and their children, Brandon, Shelby, Brittney, Dariane, & McKenzie, and Jeff (Mandy) Holt and their children, Emily, Ethan, & Elliott, and his best friend, "Howdy".
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Holt, and a brother, Glenn (Carma) Holt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Tiverton Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
