Albert "Al" C. Harrmann

October 22, 1920 — January 8, 2013

Gambier - Albert C. "Al" Harrmann, 92, formerly of Cincinnati, died Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born October 22, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Arthur and Adele (Salow) Harrmann. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. He worked for the JC Penny company in Milwaukee and was transferred to Cincinnati, where he later became the plant manager for the John Mueller Licorice Co.
He coached many little league and church league baseball teams, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.

Al was a member of Cincinnati St. Ignatius and also St. Luke church in Danville. He was also a member of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Core), having personally planted many trees in northern Wisconsin. Al was very active in retired life. He enjoyed playing golf and also swimming and keeping in touch with his good friends from the Gamble Nippert YMCA in Western Hills.

He is survived by sons; Thomas (Tammy) Harrmann of Gambier, Richard (Patricia) Harrmann of Cincinnati, and James (Patricia) Harrmann of Bayfield, CO, grandchildren; Corey (Michelle), Abby, Kelly, Erin (Dillon Lester), Amy (Brad) Long, Joseph (Kylee), Hennessee, Estelle (Tom) Wright, and Tessa, great grandchildren; McKenzie Krownapple, and Hanley Harrmann, a brother; Arthur (Alice) Harrmann, Jr., and a sister; Marilyn Workman both of Milwaukee, WI.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Dale (Rauh), in 1984, and a sister; Georgene White.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday January 12, 2013, at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service. Father Victor Wesolowski will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Cincinnati.
