Danville - Albert James "Jim" Piar, 66, died Tuesday July 20, 2010 at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1944 in Knox County to Herman and Lucy Catherine Ellen (Durbin) Piar. He was a veteran of the U.S Army, and a member of the American Legion Post #257 of Loudonville. He worked at Flxible for 33 years, and at FT Precision for over 8.

Jim is survived by his brother; Robert (Nancy) Piar, sisters; Martha (Leonard) Neighbarger, and Margaret Piar, step children; Ben, Tim, and Beth Keener, and a step grandson; Anthony Keener.

He was predeceased by his parents, a brother; Joseph E. Piar, and a sister; Sr. Mary Ellen Piar S.C.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday July 24, 2010 at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville. Fathers Richard Snoke and Homer Blubaugh will officiate. Burial, with graveside military rites from the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the church on Friday evening from 5-8, followed by a prayer service.

Memorial donations can be made to the Knox Community Hospital Palliative care Unit; 1330 Coshocton Rd., Mount Vernon, 43050. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
