Danville - Alma F. Dye, 74, passed away peacefully with family on Saturday January 3, 2009 at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

She was born December 6, 1934 in Parkersburg, WV to Clarence and Lulu (Hammons) Frye. On September 16, 1950 she was married to Harold "Holten" Dye, who she spent 58 incredible years with. Both she and her husband delivered the Mount Vernon News for over 30 years.

She loved sewing, quilting, painting, flowers and gardening, reading and music, and fishing. She had a fascination with words and loved to write. She had some of her poetry published in The National Library of Poetry, and was a member of the International Society of Poets.

Alma is survived by her daughter; Althea Dye (Chris Fletcher) of Howard, her granddaughter; Amber Ruth (Matt) of Upper Sandusky, her brother; Bill Frye (Elvie) of Gambier, special friends; Charley and Linda Elkins of Apple Valley, and many other good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Holten, a son; Ken Dye, and brothers; Don and Dale Frye.

Memorial contributions can be made to any Emergency Squad of the donor's choice. The family is also pleased to acknowledge that Alma was a tissue donor to Lifeline of Ohio (www.donatelifeohio.org).

A memorial service for Harold Holten and Alma Dye, will be held at 1:00 Saturday January 10, 2009 at the Danville United Methodist Church at 408 Market St. The Rev. Doug Sweet will officiate. Calling hours will begin 2 hours before the service.
