COSHOCTON- Alyce Ann (Weisheit) Thomas, 99, a resident of Autumn Healthcare, died Thursday April 11, 2013 at the care center.

She was born Aug. 14, 1913 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Rev. William Henry and Anna (Morrell) Weisheit. She married Edgar Francis Thomas on Oct. 14, 1942, who preceded her in death on June 6, 1984. She graduated from the Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, where she began her career as a Registered Nurse. After her family moved to Coshocton in 1946, she worked at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital in Obstetrics until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, classical music, and the Opera, always tuning in to watch the performances on PBS. In her later years, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, and she has always been an avid reader of many magazines, books, and newspapers. She was very dedicated to her home and her community, visiting many of her friends in the neighborhood whenever they were in need of medical attention. She was a member of the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, and a past-member of the Walhonding Valley Garden Club, and the Bethlehem Grange.


She is survived by her daughter, Alyce Suzanne (Robert) Munroe of Beverly, MA, her son, Jeffrey Paul Thomas of Albuquerque, NM, four grandchildren; Jeffrey Scott (Diane) Munroe of Middlebury, VT, Jeannette Suzanne (Carlos) Campos of Ashburn, VA, Allyn Liana (Jeremy) Roberts of Georgetown, MA, and Scott Thomas (Jeanine) Munroe of Ft. Campbell, KY, four great-grandchildren; Liam & Eamon Welsh, and Austin & Hunter Roberts, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 16, 2013 at the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dail Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, and also one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
