Fayetteville, GA- Anna Millard Hobbs Milhorn, age 77, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 due to complications from Alzheimer's, with her husband Curtis at her side.
Anna was born at home to the late Worley J. Millard and Lily Mae (Keith) Millard in Mendota, Virginia on April 23, 1934. She graduated from Hamilton High School in Mendota and continued her schooling to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
As a nurse, Anna cared for many patients in hospitals and nursing homes in Michigan, Virginia and Florida. She had a passion for reading. In later years she enjoyed painting and has left many of pieces of her artwork to her family.
In addition to her husband, Curtis Milhorn of Fayetteville, GA, she is survived by five sons: Don (Ginny) Hobbs of Newark, OH, Randy D. Hobbs of Hillsville, VA, Richard D. Hobbs (Martha Cox) of Peachtree City, GA, David Hobbs of Jonesboro, GA, Danny Hobbs of Fayetteville, GA. She will be greatly missed by her nine grandchildren, Chrissie (Corey) Fischer, Kevin (Brittany) Hobbs, Carren (Brian) Frost, Zachary Hobbs, Hannah (Joe) Wierzbicki, Samantha Hobbs, Melanie Hobbs, Brandon Hobbs and Anna Nicole Hobbs and seven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Brody and Ally Fischer, Anna, Michael and Rosemary Grace Hobbs and Hayden Frost. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Dye of DeLand, FL and brother, Worley "Sonny" Millard of Bowling Green, KY along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her first husband, Rex D. Hobbs, Sr.; sisters, Eva Millard and Edith Benfield, brother, John Millard.
The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, OH will be assisting the family with graveside services when Anna is laid to rest in the Mendota Community Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.
