Arnold Layman Addair, 75, of Danville Ohio, passed away at home on June 5, 2026. He was born August 28, 1950, in Garland, McDowell County, West Virginia, to Leck and Glenna (Coleman) Addair. He graduated from Baileysville High School in 1968. He married Sharon Wilson on November 29, 1969. She preceded him in death on September 19, 2019, shortly before their 50th anniversary.
Throughout his life, Arnold worked in several different occupations. In the years after he graduated from school, he farmed with his father in Howard and around Knox County. He and Sharon operated a dairy farm in eastern Knox County for a number of years. He worked in the oil fields for a time before he became employed full-time at Cooper Bessemer, later Rolls-Royce. He remained at Rolls-Royce until he retired in 2015. He owned and operated a poultry farm from 2016 to 2022, after which time he settled into official retirement as a full-time kid-hauler and yard-mower.
Arnold was interested in anything to do with trains, farming, and his family. His faith was the central guiding tenant of his life, and he enjoyed sharing how the love of Jesus had transformed him.
He is survived by his son Adam (Billie Jo) Addair of Danville, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Mackenzie, Austin, and Kellyn Addair; his brothers Wayne (Darlene) Addair of North Springs, West Virginia, Leck Addair, Jr. of Danville, Dennis (Melanie) Addair of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Marty Addair, and Kenny (Joy) Addair, both of Howard, Ohio; his special in-laws, Jane Addair, Billy and Annette Hawks, Rodney and Linda LeFevers, Frank and Kathy Ruloff, Lester and Karon Carlson, and Andy and Linda Wilson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and church family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; his parents, Leck and Glenna; his brothers Darrell and Mike; his uncle Raymond Coleman, as well as other close family members; his in-laws Loretta Lawson, Thursa Blankenship, Lucy Lester, Samuel Cox, Susie LeFevers, Richard Wilson, Amos Wilson, Evelyn Wilson, Johnny Keith LeFevers, and Timothy LeFevers.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4 to 7 pm at the Fisher Funeral Home in Danville. The funeral service will be officiated by Matt McManaway and Brad White which will begin at noon on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Fischer Funeral Home followed with a graveside service at Workman cemetery open to all. Memorial contributions can be made in Arnold’s name to the Victory Church of Christ in Mount Vernon,12470 Upper Fredericktown Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050 and the Danville High School FFA, PO Box 30 Danville, 43014.
