Jacksonville, NC - Aurice Alda Magers, 99, went to be with the Lord April 18, 2009 at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
She was the daughter of Walter L. Winterringer and Eva Dora (Carter) Winterringer. She was born September 23, 1909 in Knox County, OH. On December 31, 1931, she became the wife of Ross J. Magers, who preceded her in death on September 25, 1991.
Aurice was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kenneth Winterringer, sisters Harriet Iva Smith, Ruby Elizabeth Leedy, sons Ralph Walter, Richard David, and daughter Mildred Louise Magers, daughter-in-law Phyllis Ann Magers, and grandson-in-law Donald Edward Albany.
She is survived by a son Robert "Bob" J. Magers and wife Christine of Ontario, Ohio, four grandchildren Marcia Albany of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jerry and wife Cheryl of Richlands, North Carolina, Kurt and wife Cathy of Mansfield, Ohio, Richard and wife Brenda of Louisville, Kentucky, eight great grand children Ryan (Carmen) Albany, Jeremi Magers, Tricia (Bill) Marshburn, Beth Albany, Megan Magers, Abby Albany, Jessica Magers and Ryan Willey, three great great grandchildren, Meredith Magers, Carly Marshburn and Gage Cyrus.
Aurice was a devoted member of the Danville Grace Brethren Church and active in the Women's Christian Fellowship.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Al Hockley will officiate. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time.
