WARSAW, OH- Barbara Foster, 88, of Warsaw, Ohio (formerly of Ansted, West Virginia), went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2025.
Born on June 21, 1937, in Jodie, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Harmon and Stella (Bennett) Gray.
Barbara married the love of her life, Willo Foster, on June 24, 1955. Together, they shared 68 beautiful years of marriage before Willo preceded her in death on July 16, 2023. Their love was a steadfast example of devotion, humor, and partnership - the kind that lights up a room and leaves a legacy.
Barbara retired from the State of West Virginia, where she proudly served with the West Virginia State Police. Her dedication, work ethic, and quick wit made her a joy to work alongside.
Barbara was a woman of deep faith and an even deeper love. She was kind and caring, yet ornery in the best way. She loved her family fiercely, laughed often, and never missed a chance to remind you of the importance of faith and family. She loved the Lord and lived her life as a reflection of that love.
She is survived by her two sons, James (Debbie) Foster of Warsaw, Ohio, and Dan {Melanie) Foster of Craigsville, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Shane (Michelle) Foster of Orlando, Florida, Jamie (Brian) Olinger of Westerville, Ohio, Brandi Turner of Oak Hill, West Virginia, Casey Foster of Craigsville, West Virginia, and Amy (Michael) McCallister of West Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Marley, Reese, Abby, Ashton, Bratton, and Brynlee.
She is also survived by her brother, Roy (Shirley) Gray of Ansted, West Virginia; and her sister, Beatrice Morris of Victor, West Virginia. She was blessed with the devoted care and friendship of JD and Dustina Cameron of Warsaw, Ohio - lifelong friends from Ansted, West Virginia, who lovingly supported her in her later years.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ernest Morris.
A service celebrating Barbara's life will be held at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Victor, West Virginia, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 1 :00 PM, with calling hours one hour prior at 12:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Reverend Mark Skaggs. Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, OH is handling arrangements. FischerFuneralHome.com.
Barbara's love, laughter, and faith-filled spirit will live on in all who knew her. She was a blessing to many - and though she's gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.
