Barbara A. (Wright) Keener

GREER- Barbara Ann (Wright) Keener, 80, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at her residence.

She was born July 17, 1944 in Mt. Vernon to the late William Ford and Lucille Virginia (Hall) Wright.

Barabra worked for the former Morning View Care Center in Danville, where she was known for being a very caring and giving person. She was always going out of her way to bring in something special for her residents. She gave of her time and attention to anyone in need. Barbara loved her cats, her grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was a member of Greer Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by her companion of 39 years, Layne Reed of Glenmont; two daughters, Charlotte (Ike) Ball of Glenmont, and Darlene (Gary) Grizzle of Sunbury; grandchildren, Heather (Wally) Chapin, Ike (Julie) Ball II; great-grandchildren, Catlin Ball, and Ike Ball III; brothers, Monroe (Kay) Wright, Manuel Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Rose Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with Pastor Ray Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Glenmont. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. FischerFuneralHome.com
