Betty E. Chanay

January 18, 1922 — May 2, 2009

Millersburg- Betty Eileen Chanay, 87, a resident of Majora Lane
Care Center and formerly of Layland, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the care
center.

She was born Jan. 18, 1922 in Coshocton to the late Harry and
Mary (Jeffries) Miller. She married C. Logan Chanay, Sr. on Aug. 9, 1941,
whom preceded her in death on March 10, 1993. She worked at Landon's IGA in
Killbuck, was a member of the former Layland United Methodist Church, a
member of the Stitch & Chatter Club, and she loved to play cards, bingo, and
loved quilting.

She is survived by a son, C. Logan (Sue) Chanay, Jr. of
Bellefontaine, and a daughter, Nancy (Larry) Lorentz of Lakeville, six
grandchildren; Juli Madden, Michelle Deyoe, Scott (Joann) Lorentz, Susan
(Shawn) Shriver, Curt (Marcia) Lorentz, and Keaton Lorentz, twelve
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in
death by three sisters; Elsie Butler, Opal Arnold, and Thelma Miller, and
two brothers; Kenneth R. Miller and James Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 6,
2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Ron Davis officiating.
Burial will follow in Blissfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be from
6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
