Betty E. Clark

November 30, 1920 — July 13, 2010

DOVER- Betty Eileen Clark, 89, of E. Iron Ave., died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at her daughter's home.

She was born Nov. 30, 1920 in Coshocton to the late Ivon S. and Louisa Elizabeth (Snedeker) Loos. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and Wesleyan Mission, and attended New Pointe Community Church in Dover. Betty contributed to her churches, Focus on the Family, Radio Bible Club, Impact Middle East Missions, Moody Bible College, Billy Graham Evangelism Association and other mission's projects. Betty was always very active in her church either leading or singing in the choirs. Betty was also president of the mission society for many years. Betty began teaching Sunday school at age 16 and continued to do so to the age of 83, blessing many lives over the years. She accepted the forgiving grace of Jesus Christ at an early age and shared the love of Christ with family, friends and many others throughout her life. Betty spent many of her vacations doing volunteer work at the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky. Betty gave of her time, her talent and her treasures for the good of others and for the cause of Christ. Betty was noted as a lady of character, grace, kindness and love. She was an avid reader of the scriptures and of literature. Betty was politically active, well informed on current events and very patriotic. Betty was a tremendous blessing to our families through her prayers, her kindness, her encouragement, and her godly example. Betty will be missed but never forgotten and waiting to meet us again with Christ, heaven is richer and this earth poorer with her passing.

She is survived by two daughters; Rete R. Chapman of Coshocton, and Peggy A. (Gary) Crowthers of New Philadelphia, a granddaughter, Janell (Winston) Hall of Berlin, three grandsons, J. Eric Chapman of Alabama, C. Curtis (Jodi) Chapman of Coshocton, and Chad A. (Amanda) Crowthers, great-grandchildren; Luke A. & Meagan E. Hall, Jessie D. Chapman, C. Micah, Kye A. & Caleb A. Crowthers, Bret R. Ricklic, and Layne I. Perks, two sisters-in-law; Elsie Loos, and Janice Clark both of Coshocton.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters; Leora Catherine Scott, Anita P. McConnel, and Ireta Loos, two brothers; Russell l. Loos, and Ivon J. Loos, a son-in-law, Herbert D. Chapman, and a great-grandson, Shawn L. Chapman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Chad Stutzman officiating. Private burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton. Visitation is one hour prior to service time.
