Frazeysburg - Betty JoAnn Cooper, 84, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at her residence on her farm in Knox County.

She was born in Mansfield on July 21, 1930 to Frank and Edythe (Grice) Wells. She married Loring E. Cooper on March 14, 1947. She was a long time custodian for East Knox Schools, and also worked with her husband for the Census Bureau for many years. She was a member of the Bladensburg Church of Christ and the Pythian Sisters. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, and her dog "Rascals".

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings; Raymond J. and Jason G. Wells, Juanita Hoffman, and Thelma Richter.

Surviving are sons; Donald E. Cooper of Gambier, Roger L. Cooper of Howard, Michael A. Cooper of Rockbridge, Garry F. Cooper of Walhonding, Tom E. Cooper of Utica, and Ben D. Cooper of Gahanna, daughters; Nancy E. Broxson III of Tennessee and Sandra J. Graham of Chesapeake, Virginia, 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor David Fowls will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be from 4-6 on Friday, and one hour prior to the service Saturday.
