Mount Vernon - Betty L. Hood, 84, formerly of Danville, died Monday January 5, 2009 at the Rose Garden Nursing Home.
She was born September 13, 1924 in Knox County to Arthur and Bernice (Bodle) Moreland. On January 20, 1944 she was married to John F. Breckler, who died on June 27, 1944. She was married to William G. Hood on February 8, 1948. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2002. She was a member of the Riley Chapel Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #650.
She is survived by a son; Greg (Sandy) Hood of Danville, a daughter-in-law; Darlene Hood of Danville, grandchildren; Eric (Amanda) Hood of Laporte, IN, Jason (Jackie) Hood, Josh (Deanna) Hood, and Julie (Brad) McLarnan, all of Danville, Adam (Veronica) Hood of Mount Vernon, and Rhonda (Dave) Carter of Walhonding, and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her first and second husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a son; William L. Hood on August 5, 2002.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday January 9, 2009, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Gary Weller will officiate. Burial will be in Riley Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday.
