Danville – William H. “Bill” Martin, 93, passed away Sunday November 13, 2016 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He was born in Millersburg on April 26, 1923. He was the son of Wallace and Emma (Hyatt) Martin. They both preceded him in death along with his wife Ellen, who he married on June 30, 1949, and their son, Michael.
Bill was a charter member of the Joseph Colopy Jr. American Legion Post 650 in Danville, and served in WWII with the U.S. Army. He had many hobbies and interests and was a very active man, but he enjoyed his time with his children and grandchildren more than anything.
He is survived by a daughter, Wanda Lore of Byron, GA, a son, Larry Martin of Danville, a daughter-in-law, Anita Martin of Danville, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Lou Daily of Brinkhaven.
A graveside service will be held in Workman Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16. Rev. Bob Alexander will officiate. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
