Bishop Albert Hershberger

DANVILLE- Bishop Albert J. Hershberger, 75, of 16555 Pritchard Rd., died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at his residence.

He was born March 12, 1939 in Apple Creek to the late Jonas J. and Katie (Troyer) Hershberger. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He is survived by ten children; Jonas A. (Sarah) Hershberger of Danville, Erma (Dan) Weaver of Big Prairie, Andy (Anna) Hershberger of Brinkhaven, Eli (Elizabeth) Hershberger of the home, Edna (David) Miller of Brinkhaven, Ruby (Earl) Hochstetler of Danville, Sarah (Urie) Byler of Danville, Ivan (Lizzie Ann) Hershberger of Danville, Roman (Ether) Hershberger of Brinkhaven, and Naomi Hershberger of the home, ninety-one grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, four brothers; Roman (Mary) Hershberger of Danville, Dan (Anna) Hershberger of Gallipolis, John (Lydia) Hershberger of Fredericksburg, and Junior (Naomi) Hershberger of Apple Creek, and five sisters; Mary (Jacob) Yoder of Apple Creek, Susan Yoder of Apple Creek, Edna (Robert) Troyer of Coshocton, and Katie (Mose) Troyer of Millersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on Sept. 15, 2011 by his wife, Anna L. (Stutzman) Hershberger, whom he married on Sept. 22, 1960, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the residence, 16555 Pritchard Rd., Danville, OH 43014. Burial will follow in the Mast Cemetery in Union Twp.
