Howard – Bishop Alvin Troyer, 54, of 29591 Brush Run Rd., died suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
He was born August 26, 1962 to Andrew D. and Clara J. (Yoder) Troyer. He married Mary L. Hershberger on May 24, 1983. He was a member of the Old Order Amish.
He is survived by his wife, 7 sons, and 3 daughters; John (Lydia) Troyer of Big Prairie, Levi (Elsie) Troyer of Howard, Andy (Miriam) Troyer of Danville, Alvin Jr. (Marie) Troyer of Howard, Clara (Felty) Raber of Walhonding, Henry (Edna) Troyer of Howard, Jonas (Esther) Troyer of Walhonding, Anna (Mose) Yoder of Walhonding, and Eli and Mary Troyer both of the home, 19 grandchildren, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, his mother-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, and 5 sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, infant twin granddaughters, and his father-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7 at the residence, with Robert Troyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Troyer Cemetery in Butler Township.
