Catherine J. (Wesney) Thomas

WEST LAFAYETTE- Catherine J. (Wesney) Thomas, 71, died Monday, May 2, 2022 at Altercare of Coshocton.

Cathy was born July 10, 1950 in Zanesville to the late Raymond Elmer and Bernice Joan (Smith) Wesney. She married Raymond Cletus Thomas on Oct. 31, 1969, who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2022. Over their 52 years of marriage, they built a beautiful life together.

She was a licensed practical nurse for over 30 years, working at various times for the former Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital, Signature Healthcare, and Interim Healthcare. Cathy dedicated her life to taking care of others. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was the glue that held them all together. She loved the outdoors, painting, and crafting. She was known to a bit outspoken, but had the biggest heart, and was always the first to lend a helping hand.

She is survived by two sons, Aaron (Shannon) Thomas of Coshocton, and Shawn Thomas of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Alli (Nick) Hatfield, Kelsey, Ryley, & Alyssa Thomas, and Makita (John) Fisher; great-grandchildren, Owen, Cole, & Beau Hatfield, Mikee & Zoee D'Ostroph, and Klayton, Rylan, Jurnee, Bexlynn, & Kashton Fisher; brothers, Raymond L. (Debra) Wesney of Warsaw, Michael D. (Karen) Wesney of Walhonding, and William D. (Tonia) Wesney of Coshocton; sisters, Martha A. (Andy) Gardinsky of Strasburg, Debra S. (Kevin) Roeser of Navarre, Melissa K. Ashley of Coshocton, and Beth D. (Brad) Vojacek of Warsaw; her "girls"; and she was "Aunt Cathy" to many.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cathy was preceded in death by several in-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
