Danville – Charles James Bratton, 85, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Autumn Healthcare of Mount Vernon.

He was born on May 25, 1929, in Dayton to the late Francis and Mary Ann (Berger) Bratton. On November 11, 1950, he was married to Lillian Dangler, with whom he just celebrated their 64th anniversary. He was a 1950 graduate of Tiffin University, and spent his career in agribusiness. He started as an auditor with the Landmark Co-Op, and ended up as CEO of Agrimark Farmers Co-Op of Ashland. He was a pioneer in the process of merging local Co-Ops to better utilize the resources of locals to better the farmers.

Dad was a lover of sports, especially golf, and high school football. He was also an avid reader who truly appreciated literature, especially Shakespeare. His other interests were classical music, reading the daily papers, and crossword puzzles. He was a dedicated, loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife, Lillian of Danville, children; Laura (Ed) Renemans of Casper, WY, Charles R. (Linda) Bratton of Danville, Kyle J. (Terri) Bratton of Lexington Park, MD, Tom (Ellen) Bratton of Zeeland, MI, Lorraine Bratton (John Henwood) of Danville, John (Jean) Bratton of Bowling Green, Ted (Lori) Bratton of Danville, Michael Bratton of Bowling Green, and Amy (Mohsen) Faghihi of Lewis Center, 23 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brothers; Richard (Betty) Bratton of Clayton, CA, and William (Gloria) Bratton of Zanesville, and a sister, Mary (Art) Erford of Hamler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bratton Jr., and 2 granddaughters; Megan Bratton, and Larissa Renemans.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville. Father Vincent Nguyen will officiate. A private interment will be held in St. Luke Cemetery on Saturday. Visitation will be held at the church from 6-8 on Thursday, Dec. 11th.
