Coshocton- Charles Roland "Chuck" Fortney, Jr., 33, of John St., went to be with his Dad on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born July 15, 1975 in LaGrange, GA to Charles R. Fortney, Sr. and Dana Lynn (Dunmire) Fortney. He was a 1993 graduate of River View High School. He was in the United States Marine Corps. from 1993 to 1997. Known by most as "Chum", he really loved fishing, watching the Georgia Bulldogs and Cincinnati Bengals, riding motorcycles, and he loved his children greatly, spending as much time with them as he could. He was a wonderful uncle, who will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews. He was also a member of the Coshocton Church of Christ.
He is survived by his mother, Lynn Fortney of Orange Park, FL, three children; Kalani, Jewel, and Jonathan, a brother, William Rob (Charity) Fortney of Coshocton, a sister, Tammy (Tony) Jacobs of Middleburg, FL, six nieces and nephews; Branden, Tosha, Tyra, Jack, Blaine, and Ean, a grandmother, Maxine Dunmire of Conesville, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Fortney, Sr., grandparents; Jack & Julia Fortney, and David Dunmire, and three uncles; Norman, Floyd, and Jim.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Lloyd Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
