Danville - Chester James "Chet" Miller, 88, died surrounded by his family Tuesday November 15, 2011at his residence.
He was born November 1, 1923 in Clarion, PA to Chester T. and Martha Ellen (Reinsel) Miller. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 where he was a pilot with Air Sea Rescue in the South Pacific. He married Mary Jane Bish on November 1, 1945. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 650.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Jane Miller of Danville, his son; K. Richard (Carolyn) Miller of Brinkhaven, his daughter; Donna Workman of Danville, 4 grandchildren; Rich (Laura) Miller of Mt. Vernon, Kelly (Mark) Banbury, Rebecca (Paul) Stover, and Charley (Gwen) Workman all of Danville, 9 great grandchildren; Erica Moxley, Austin Miller, Lee Miller, Jerimiah Banbury, Josh Banbury, Nicholas Stover, Nathaniel Stover, Jared Stover, and Brittany (Justin) Weinstock, and 2 sisters; Joan Burger, andBarbara (George) Neideritter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law; Carl Workman, brothers; Donald and Delbert Miller, and a sister; Marian Harenrader.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 18, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. John Clouston will officiate. Burial, with graveside military rites by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Millwood Cemetery. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service.
