Danville – Christopher “Chris” Neitzelt, 74, passed away at home on May 5, 2024.
Chris was born in Wooster on June 2, 1949. He was the son of Hubert Neitzelt and Norma Lee (Sowards) Farley. He was a career Air Force Veteran, proudly serving in both Vietnam and the Gulf War during his service time from 1968 to 1995 as an in-flight fuel technician/ boom operator onboard the KC-135 tanker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Diane Garvin; brother, Steven Neitzelt; step-father, Harry Farley; and step-mother, Marilyn Novak.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Riesen) Neitzelt, who he married April 24, 1983; his sons, Michael, Bryan, and Bradlee Neitzelt; step-daughter, Auday Reffey; 10 grandchildren; brother, Robert Neitzelt; sisters, Deborah Frazier and Becky Barr; step siblings, Margaret Buehrer and Jeff Novak, and his faithful companion, “Serg”.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 at Workman Cemetery in Danville, with Pastor Patrick Bailey officiating and military rites performed by the Knox Co. Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the family farm, 19400 Danville-Jelloway Rd. Danville, OH 43014.
