Clarence "Pete" Sapp

January 26, 1943 — August 25, 2011

BUTLER- Clarence Paul "Pete" Sapp, 68, of Carson Rd. died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Jan. 26, 1943 in Danville to the late Raymond E. and Eva J. (Strouse) Sapp. Pete attended the Church on the Rise in Mt. Vernon. He also went on several mission trips to Mexico and Mobile, AL, as well as other church building trips. He loved working with food giveaways and pantries. He also loved to share his large garden with many local people. He worked in the lumber and carpentry businesses all his life, as well as some time spent at the former Clever Lumber Co. Pete cherished his grandchildren and loved to tell stories of his times spent with them.

He is survived by his son, Rob (Holly) Sapp of Mt. Vernon, two grandchildren; Kristen & Alex Sapp of Mt. Vernon, six brothers; Herbert Sapp, John (Mary Lou) Sapp, and Carl (Vickie) Sapp, all of Mt. Vernon, Glenn Sapp of Buford, GA, Donald Sapp of Danville, and Ray Sapp of Florida, two sisters; Bonnie (Don) Hibdon of Orland, CA, and Betty Stiltner of Mt. Vernon, ten nephews and fifteen nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; Robert, Lloyd, David, & Dale Sapp, and a sister, Grace Wagner.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor Don Matolyak officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28th at the funeral home, and until service time on Monday.
