Howard - Darcy Lee Baldridge, 43, of 808 Floral Valley Dr. E, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 5, 1966 in Mt. Vernon to Gregory Lee and Betty Joyce (Jackson) Parker. She was a member of the local breast cancer support group in Mt. Vernon, and will be featured in the 2011 Fighting Faces Calendar. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. From her husband, Brian:
"To the greatest person we will ever know, to the one we will miss. Forever in a life, from the sparkle in her eyes, to the smile on her face. She made the world a better place. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. Darcy would want no tears or sadness, only smiles and happy memories. Her leaving us here on Earth may seem bad, but we all need an angel and she most certainly is. Darcy has worked at the Killbuck Savings Bank Company for 15 years. You could always count on seeing her smiling face when you walked through the bank doors. Her coworkers and customers adored her and she will be greatly missed. Darcy and I married on July 23, 1988. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Courtney and Braxton, and was blessed with three grandsons that she absolutely adored. 'Her Boys' meant the world to her. She was the greatest wife a man could ever ask for. She was just perfect in my eyes. Darcy passed away from breast cancer that she had been battling for almost two years now. She was only 43 years old. She fought hard, with strength and dignity, and she ALWAYS had a smile on her face and never complained."
In addition to her husband, Brian Baldridge, she is survived by a daughter, Courtney (Alan) Railing, and a son, Braxton (Hali) Baldridge, three grandsons; Leelynd & Conner Railing, and Cooper Baldridge, her mother, Betty Parker, two brothers; Drew (Holly) Parker, and Dana (Amber) Parker, all of Knox Co., many nieces and nephews, and many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gregory Lee Parker, and her father-in-law, Duke Baldridge.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor Lloyd Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
