DANVILLE, OH – David J. Byler, 83 years, 1 month and 6 days, died at home on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
He was born in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania on April 13, 1943, the son of Jonathan R. and Nancy (Mast) Byler. He married Mary E. Byler on February 11, 1965, who preceded him in death Oct. 15, 2022. David was a member of the Old Order Amish.
He is survived by six children, Jonathan (Lovina) Byler, Valentine (Katie) Byler, Urie (Sarah) Byler, Emanuel (Mary) Byler, Andy (Katie) Byler, and Elizabeth (Eli) Hershberger all of Danville; 44 grandchildren; 82 great grandchildren; and one sister.
The funeral will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Byler residence, 29820 Arnholt Rd. Danville, 43014. Bishop Jonas A. Hershberger will officiate. Burial will follow in Mast Cemetery on Black Rd. Friends and family may call anytime. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is assisting with arrangements. Fischerfuneralhome.com
