David L. Thomas

COSHOCTON- David Lee Thomas, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 24, 1948 in Coshocton, the son of the late Noble R. Thomas and Edith R. (Dickerson) Thomas Untied. He was a 1966 graduate of River View High School, and in 1968 he graduated from the Greene and Kellogg School of Respiratory Therapy in Buffalo, NY. For more than 40 years, he was employed as a respiratory therapist at the former Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital. On Dec. 2, 1967, he married his former wife, Cathy (Primrose) Hall. Though divorced for many years, the two remained lifelong friends.

David was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He served as Deacon and sang in the church choir, and was the former treasurer. He enjoyed playing cards, watching old movies, planning family reunions, and working on family genealogy.

He is survived by a daughter, Autumn Thomas (Tim Holz) of Coshocton; Lance (Rose) Hall of Coshocton; grandchildren, Joshua (Kelsey) Farley of Warsaw, Nathan Farley of Coshocton, and Samson Hall & Ramona Hall of Coshocton; a great-grandchild, Sawyer Farley of Warsaw; a brother, Roger (Gwen) Thomas of Coshocton; one aunt, Darlene Thomas of Coshocton;  a sister-in-law, Virginia Thomas of Coshocton; his former wife, Cathy Hall of Coshocton; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Untied; a brother, Richard Thomas; a sister, Carole Rhodes; a nephew, Robert Rhodes; and an aunt, Virginia Veatch.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. Harold Sprague officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Union Cemetery.
