FLORESVILLE, TEXAS - Dean Clark Arweller, 97, a resident of the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Veterans Home.
He was born August 29, 1918 in Danville to the late Roy V. and Leota Fern (Clark) Arweller.
Dean was a Prison Farm Director and formerly owned a gas station in Danville. He was an avid camper and fisherman. For the last 30 years he has lived in Zapata, Texas to pursue bass fishing at Falcon Lake. Dean was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Adams) Arweller, whom he married in 1943. She died August 30, 1989. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Arweller, his son, Richard Arweller, a sister, Ruth Connell, and a brother, Paul Arweller.
Graveside military services will be held for Dean on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Workman Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling the arrangements.
