Mount Vernon - Dennis J. "Herb" Breckler, Sr., 55, died Monday November 17, 2008 in the Knox Community Hospital ER.
He was born December 3, 1952 in Mount Vernon to the late William J. and Sharon L. (Smith) Breckler. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #650.
He is survived by his wife; Janet (Detty) Breckler, a son; Dennis J. Breckler, Jr. (Mandi), daughters; Bridget Hoeflich and Amanda Watson (Spike), grandchildren; Kamden, Cole, Austin, Derek, Jordan, Dillon, Kylie, and Autumn, brothers; Louis Gregory (Erlene) and Charles David (Susanne) Breckler, sisters; Karen Strausbaugh (Clem), Brenda Armstrong, Teresa McCormick, and Kim Paullin (Doug), and several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be from 6 -9:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with a prayer service at 8:45. Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday November 20, 2008, at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville. The Rev. F. Richard Snoke will officiate. Burial, with graveside military rites from the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be in St. Luke Cemetery.
