Cooperdale- Donald Lee Chaney, 77, of 17833 SR 60 South, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville.
He was born Aug. 24, 1931 in Cooperdale to Henry Ward and Wilma Ruby (Young) Chaney. He married Mary Madeline (Stevens) Chaney on June 20, 1952, whom survives. He loved to play the guitar and harmonica as he sang with gospel groups and played in nursing homes.
In addition to his wife, Mary Chaney of Cooperdale, his is also survived by two daughters; Donna (Dwight) Beatty of Canal Lewisville, and Judy (Doug) Ugie of Cooperdale, three grandsons; Josh Ward, Derrick Beatty, and Taylor Ugie, four great-grandchildren; Aaron Ward, Emma Ward, Anna Ward, and Lane Beatty, a brother, Kenney Chaney of Coshocton, and an aunt, Nona Waters of Breckinridge, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Wilbur Beaver and Pastor Scott Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. on Monday.
