WARSAW - Donald Dean Hunter, 79, of CR 343 died July 4, 2010 at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1931 in Coshocton County to the late Basil J. and Bessie R. (Grant) Hunter.
He was a farmer, an excavator, and in the timber business. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army serving from 1951-1953 and until 1959 in the Army Reserve. He was a member of the American Legion in Coshocton, the NRA, a life member of the North American Hunting Club and the Handyman's Club. He was a member of the Gospel Hill Ministry and was an avid coon hunter with his constant companions Spot and Jenny.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Hunter and Glen Funk.
He is survived by his wife, Emily (Fowler) Hunter, who he married June 16, 1951. Also surviving is his son, Donald E. (Kathy) Hunter of Nashport. A grandson, Steven E. Hunter of Coshocton. A granddaughter, Dawn K. (Joe) Stewart of Clark. Five great grandchildren. His twin sister, Dorothea "Dot" Bickel of Warsaw. Life long friends, Gene & Bev Albertson of Folsom, CA and three nieces.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Blissfield Cemetery with graveside military services conducted by the Coshocton County Joint Veterans Council. Visitation is Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. and until service time on Thursday. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
